Judy Anderson
Gary is a lifelong resident of the Clarksburg area and is married to Stephen
Gary and they have two sons. Chris, who is deceased and C.J. Gary.
Her parents are Glenn and Ruth Anderson.
Judy has been a Junior Grange Matron, currently Secretary/Treasurer of
the Clarksburg Subordinate Grange and pianist for the Pomona Grange. She
was a youth Sunday School teacher for 20 years and the present church organist
at Brown's Chapel United Methodist Church and a member of the UMW. Currently
Judy is teh President of the Ladies Auxiliary at the Home Arts Building
at the Ross County Fair.
Judy was a nine year member and this her 40th year as a 4-H advisor of
the Clarksburg Jolly Beef Feeders and is the longest serving current female
4-H advisor in Ross County. She served four 3-year terms on the Ross
County Advisory Committee, served one term on the Southern Ohio Regional
4-H Committee. Judy's family has been represented on the State 4-H
Advisory Committee and the State 4-H Foundation Fund and a major contributor
of teh Ross County 4-H 4-H Endowment. They are a multi-year
buyer at the Ross and Pickaway county Fairs and are active in the Cleebration
of Youth event. She has served as a teacher for many sessions of advisor
orientations, parent and advisor chat sessions and advisor wokshops. Judy
has helped provide food for many county events and livestock weigh-ins. Her
4-H club has achieved honor club 30 plus years and both sons were ten year
4-H members; and now C.J. along with Stephen and her mother help with the
club.
Judy was the 2007 Friend of 4-H recipient. She enjoys working with
4-H kids not only now but through the years and has the 2nd generation which
she has formed lasting bonds. Judy has dedicated her life to 4-H and
the county 4-H program. People say she most likely bleeds green and
has been referred to as "Mrs 4-H".
Through all these years Judy has given a lot of her time volunteering thousands
of hours for youth of Ross County and have truly enjoyed it. Judy
feels that it has truly been an honor to have been chosen as one fo the
Grand Marshall's of the 2008 Sunflower Festival and thanks everyone involved.
